Alpaca Hiking Socks - Thin and Light |
Alpaca fiber socks in a lightweight thin design. Thinner than our Extreme, and Low Profile Extremes , these are perfect for everyday wear, workouts at the gym, short light hikes or as a wicking layer.
Truly a smart alternative to pure wool. A blend of natural alpaca, wool, and spandex (for stretch and enhanced wicking). These are soft and natural, with none of the itch of pure wool. Use alone or as excellent thin wicking layer under thicker socks for hiking, or snow skiing.
The blend is 60% alpaca, 30% wool and 10% spandex.
Alpaca is the smart choice - Alpaca is softer, warmer, wicks moisture better, and not scratchy or itchy like ordinary wool.
The socks are come in 2 Size ranges. Small/Medium and Large / Extra Large.

Alpaca is a rare specialty fiber. It is stronger than mohair, finer than many cashmeres, warmer than goose down, and breathes better than thermal knits.
Alpaca was traditionally the fiber reserved for Inca nobility. Unlike cashmere, alpaca will not pill, wrinkle, and holds its shape for many years of comfortable wear.
Alpaca wool has other qualities. For instance, it contains no lanolin, which is often referred to as the cause of wool allergies. It is therefore hypo-allergenic and very good for people with sensitive skin.
Because alpaca wool is hollow it can absorb and move (wick) body moisture much better. So in
winter you feel warm and comfortable, and in summer -- dry and fresh.
Machine or Hand Wash Warm, Hang Dry or Tumble Dry Medium. Do Not Bleach
Made in Peru with Alpaca fiber.
