Our Model 2361 Enclosed Hammock Shelter Tent, is a self contained elevated rain and mosquito shelter, complete. Comfortable and fun for backpacking, camping, on the porch, sailboat, or just the in the backyard Updated GI Style and low introductory price. This is low cost, affordable alternative to a tent. Get up off that hard ground and sleep soundly. The heavy duty tent canvas bed measures 88" long x 30" wide with a 20" high enclosed shelter. Thats a tent like sleeping area over 7 feet long.. Great for a solo camper. Rated to 220lbs maximum capacity (if you need higher capacity see models sold in sidebar). - during the day you can flip it over and use it as a regular open hammock Total weight is under 4 lbs.

The bed of the hammock has 8 3/8" end ropes measuring 28" long that connect to 2.5" diameter hangings ring made of strong 1/4" steel. The total length is 12 feet (144 inches ring to ring) . If you have two trees, posts, or branches about 12 feet apart with a hook, just put the rings over the hooks and you are in business. Use twine or cord to suspend the elevated shelter and form an inverted V roof.
For longer or irregular spans or to protect trees, use the Tent Straps sold separately in the sidebar.
The roof is made of water resistant, olive drab, tafetta nylon with 6 " overhangs that act as eaves to help keep you dry. Roof edges have 6 built in attachment points. Use cord, twine, or better still reflective tent lines (sold in sidebar - get 2 packs) to suspend, spread, and form the roof for maximum rain protection.
To increase rain protection use 3rd party water proofing treatments per manufacturer specifications.
For torrential rain protection (where wind swirls and rain comes in sideways) - use an additional RAIN TARP (sold in sidebar).
The sides are a see through mosquito mesh netting with a dual zipper on one side of the shelter. Zip yourself up and you are protected from creepy crawly things like scorpions, spiders, insects, bugs, flies, gnats, and mosquitoes, while providing ventilation..
This is essentially a tent that is suspended over the ground. When you trek outdoors into the backcountry you will find that many campers prefer this to a tent. Bugs can't get you, the water is below; you are safely suspended. Compacts and Folds to a 14 inch x 9 inch x 2.5 inch rectangle for travel.
