We were proud to be one of the first companies to stock and sell - Bioline BioDegradeable Fishing Line. While we always encourage retrieving any broken line, safety and practicality sometimes make that impossible. With this biodegradeable line, nature has a fighting chance. Plus it is just as strong as normal line - you won't lose fish ! Traditional petroleum based fishing lines endanger and obstruct habitat for over 600 years. It is safe to say - that every bit of lost line is still out there somewhere.
Well now - for the fly fisherman - we are proud to introduce the new Biodegradable Tippet material from Bioline. Bioline is made from a special biodegradable polymer that retains 100% of its strength during the first year, yet biodegrades completely in 3-5 years, leaving only trace amounts of carbon dioxide and water.

Technical stuff - This product complies with
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard D 6400-99 which defines Biodegradable Plastic as "a degradable plastic in which the degradation results from the action of naturally occurring microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and algae."
