Boonie Style Wide Hat Evaporative Cooling |

Commonly called the "Boonie" - this wide brim hat is great for sun protection. The evaporative design cools you too! Soak it in water, wring it out a bit. Then let the polymer fabric inner lining, work in conjunction with the quilted 100% cotton outer to keep you cool. The long slow evaporation keeps you cool on the hottest of days. New ACU Camo Pattern, One Size fits all (up to about a 7.5 mens size) Note: this hat works via evaporative cooling- you get it wet - then evaporation occurs. It is best in low humidity with a persistent light breeze or air movement (such as hiking). If the air is still and humid, or you are stationary - the effectiveness will be reduced. Note: We just got in the new 2008 models (shown in photos). They have the same construction but employ the updated military camouflage pattern called universal camouflage pattern (UCP). It blends green, tan, and gray to work effectively in woodland, desert, and urban environments. The pattern design is based on research into Dual Texture ( Dual-Tex) Camouflage. The digital patterns are created using highly complex fractal equations that result in a non-repeating pattern. The purpose of the digitized pattern is to match the visual texture of typical backgrounds. When compared to a white background the would seem to catch attention, but when used in an field environment, its textured appearance and lack of hard edges make it more effective than traditional patterns
