To use: Fill with water, take care not to contaminate the drinking nozzle (clear plastic cap lets you keep it isolated from dirty water). Screw cap onto bottle, after you encounter resistance - give the cap and additional 1/4 turn to seal. Lift the sport cap nozzle to open - angle bottle to drink and squeeze hard - a stream of clean filtered water will emerge from spout. Always wash new bottle completely and flush with a first batch into the sink. You may observe black water on first use - that is normal - simply bits of the activated charcoal filter. Wash bottle and store parts open to dry between uses.

The Outback filtration matrix is comprised of inert, synthetic polymers, molecular sieves and microspheres that have been specifically configured to trap and retain these organisms while inhibiting the growth of bacteria.

This process, also known as tortuosity has little effect on the flow of water molecules, but presents a rugged, microscopic obstacle course for parasites. Tortuosity is a property of curve being tortuous - twisted with many turns and used to describe diffusion in porous media.
