Tony Nester has instructed outdoor survival courses for the U.S. Military, National Park Service, USDA, and for private corporations. He is also on the adjunct faculty at Northern Arizona University where he teaches outdoor survival and primitive technology courses. His main area of focus is the southwest and he has survival experience in the Mojave, Sonoran, and Great Basin Deserts of North America.
In addition to extensive experience in wilderness survival, Tony has a BA in anthropology and is nationally certified as a Wilderness First Responder through the Wilderness Medical Institute of NOLS. He is the author of four books on outdoor survival and is also a well published writer in numerous magazines such as Wilderness Way, Backhome, Popular Woodworking, and Backwoodsman.
