Jumbo Reusable Portable Desiccant packets for Shoe, Hiking Boot and Gear Drying. These are the same as those little packets that say " Throw Away - Do Not Eat " that are packed with new clothes and in new shoeboxes - but these are Jumbo Sized versions that have better drying capacity.
Great for backpacking trips, ensures your footwear is drier over night. Just slip one into each shoe or boot and let them work.
Extra large Tyvek Silica Gel Desiccant packets. Each weighs 2.6 ounces, dry (about 73 grams) and measures 6" x 3" x 3/8".
Each pack will absorb up to a half ounce of moisture in about 2 hours.
At the end of a long hot hike, your boots or shoes are often damp with sweat and perspiration. Slip one packet in each shoe, and leave overnight for more comfortable, drier shoes in the morning.
They are powered by the natural action of silica gel - no batteries or power source required. In cases where they have absorbed a lot of water - you can recharge them in the hot sun, on a warm rock near the fire, or in a home oven for a few hours (instructions on package).
Other uses include: Keeping your gun or home security safe dry, off season tent and gear storage to prevent mold and mildew, protect clothing and fabrics in drawers from high humidity, in ski boots, bike shoes, mens and womens work shoes, anywhere you want to reduce the potential for mosture damage.
The silica gel absorbs water from the air, which increases the weight of the gel. These silica gel packs will absorb up to 15% of its own weight in water. The tyvek wrapping on each dessicant pack permits vapor to pass, keeps the contents secure, and will not expose the user to silica dust. An excellent product for static dehumification.
These packets comply with Specification MIL-D-464E Type 1 & II
