Ka-Bar ZK Acheron Skeleton Knife |
The Ultralight Ka-Bar ZK Acheron Skeleton Knife.
The company was originally called Union Cutlery of Olean, New York. The trademark name Ka- Bar was adopted in 1923 after a letter was received from a fur trapper. He wrote, in rough English, that his gun had jammed and he relied on his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. All that was legible of his scrawled writing was "k a bar". The company was so honored by this testimonial that they adopted this phrase and used it as their trademark, KA-BAR.
KA-BAR makes legendary knives. Most remember the combat knife first adopted by the United States Marine Corps in November 1942 and later by the United States Navy.
For 2001 Ka-Bar introduces the ultralight ZK Acheron Skeleton Knife - a straight edge fixed blade knife. It is constructed of 5 Crl3 stainless steel with a blade length of 3 1/8" and an overall length of 6 3/8".
This hollow handle knife is incredibly light weight at only 0.05 lbs making it easy to carry pretty much anywhere. The quality Ka-Bar brand can now be carried by ultralight backpackers, hikers and campers.
The Ka-Bar ZK Acheron Skeleton Knife includes a ZK black plastic friction release sheath with neck cord holes for easy carry.
