This year's model has these improvements:
* Bigger Brighter forward facing LEDs for more light
* Larger LED housing with longer baffles to reduce glare
* Better aim of reading LEDs for a smoother, more even presentation of light for task work
Past versions have had LEDs sandwiched in the brim. Good location, but everyone can see them even when turned off. CUB lights (Concealed Under Brim) are properly positioned and angled for up close, glare free illumination as well as long distance walking type illumination.
2010 Model is featured in this video, switch location and general function is the same. Remember that now all LEDs are concealed when turned off.
The CUB LEDs are 3mm 10,000 and 15,000 millicandela rated, white LEDs with a narrow beam rating that focuses the light forward for maximum lighting and efficiency. Technical jargon aside - they put out plenty of light for reading, task work, or night time walks.
This LED Lighted Cap illuminates what you’re looking at without having to hold a flashlight or put on a bulky headlamp. These LED Lighted Hats use patent pending C.U.B. (Concealed Under Brim) Technology™ which combines stealth positioning with proper angle of LED lights for all types of situations.
The press click switch under the brim supports multibeam lighting Technology (2 aimed for reading, 2 aimed for walking, ) means you now have one Lighted Cap that can provide you with distance lighting for Running, Walking, Biking, Hiking, camping, etc., while also satisfying your need for close up lighting for Reading, Hobbies, Home/Auto Repair, Grilling, etc.
You will have panther like night vision - perfect for outdoor activities like hunting, camping and fishing and they are also indispensible for emergencies like power outages and automobile breakdowns.
With just a quick click of the on/off switch hidden on the underside of the brim, the lights illuminate an area from reading distance all the way out to 50 feet. Since the LED’s are built right into and under the brim, they provide Lights Where You Look™ for the ultimate in hands-free lighting around the house or out and about.
Cap Power is provided by 4 CR 2032 (coin size) batteries. Using the various combinations of ON / OFF you will get over 30 hours of lighting from a fresh set of batteries.

Tips & Tricks:
1.) In the battery tray are 2 pairs of CR2032 coin size batteries. One pair powers the forward facing (walking) LED lights, and the other pair powers the downward (reading) aimed lights. If you find you use one pair more than the other, you can remove (or put a strip of plastic) over the battery leads on the pair you do not use. This will preseve those batteries so if you need spares in the field, you can swap the batteries (or simply remove the plastic strip).
2.) By pressing the on/off button halfway, you can create a momentary on, or flash with the LED lights. This can be valuable for signalling. The LEDs can be seen at a considerable distance at night. Try your skill at
