Panther Martin Gold Lures |
|
Panther Martin Gold Lures These lures have been very effective for catching trout in our local Sierra Nevada Mountains seemingly every year. Clip it on, Cast it out, and Hold on ! Small sizes are the secret to catching stream trout almost anywhere. Interesting Black body with gold flashing fluttering spoon that spins around the body. Body has Yellow/Green spots - looks a bit like a Leopard Frog pattern.
Convex/Concave blade sends out sonic vibrations that drive fish crazy. Razor sharp hooks keep fish on the hook. Weighted body casts well with ultralight lines, gold blade mounted on shaft spins freely reflecting light to attract fish from afar.
Best results are achieved when you have multiple sizes to present during fishing. When using larger sizes - if fish bump the lure and get away - the trick is to try a smaller size to increase hookups.
How to Fish with a Panther Martin Lure:
Panther Martins are somewhat heavy in proportion to their overall size. Their weight in combination with the spinning-blade angle allows them to run relatively deep. Perfect for when fish are holding down in deeper holes during mid day. The 1/16-ounce version is a good choice for catching trout from the deep pockets of mountain creeks and lakes. Cast upstream and reel just slightly faster than the current to let the lure blade spin and swim toward you as the current carries it downstream. Many hookups will occur as the line becomes parallel to the current or slightly downstream during retrieve.
Note: the 1/32 ounce is a specialized size for small mountain streams and low flows with very light (2lb ) fishing line. The heavier models are useful during stronger flows and for longer casts. All models should be used with light lines (2lb. - 4lb. test) for best results.
Use the selector box above to buy 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 or 1/4 ounce sizes.

Tip: A good rule of thumb is to buy lures (or sizes) in pairs. When a certain size lure is working, your fishing parter will beg to borrow (or buy) whatever you are using - be prepared !
