Hot Tip: Light a household candle such as a tealight, let it burn for 10 minutes. Blow it out. While wax remains liquid - dip ordinary "strike anywhere" match tips in and twirl to cover the tip and top 1/3 of the wooden match stick. Blow on them to cool and harden the wax. This provides additional protection against wet matches.
To use, gently scrape the wax from the tip, then strike on a rough dry surface. The match will ignite and the residual wax increases burn time and intensity to aid in lighting your fire.
Note: Extra long matches such as the storm proof matches may not fit in this box without trimming - extra long will fit in our other Match box sold in the sidebar. Always store strikers separate from matches to prevent accidental ignition.
