Presnelled Hooks for Powerbait Dough Floating Bait |
|
Presnelled Rig Specially designed to hold dough and for proper presentation of Berkley Powerbait Dough Floating Bait. Rigged and ready just clip to your line.
The lure of a big wad of dough floating up off the bottom is irresistible - especially to hatchery raised trout that have been planted in the wild. Their imprinted memory of feeding on pellets with 1000's of their siblings in the hatchery makes them hit it fast - before others get it.
This pre-rigged kit is a total of 4 feet long. A sliding sinker is has a 2 foot range of motion on the upper portion between sinker stops. This permits the fish to take the bait without "feeling" the sinker, and properly chew or swallow it. Two treble hooks are rigged at 1 foot and 2 foot below the bottom sinker stop.
How to use this rig: Pack Floating Dough bait onto each treble hook completely covering exposed hooks. Cast, let sinker hit bottom then and gently retrieve slack until line is tight. Then let out just a little line - just a wee bit slack At this point your floating dough will be perfectly presented at 1 foot and 2 feet above the bottom - just above the weeds and clutter (See Additional Images Button Above). The sliding sinker, ultralight 2lb. test line, slight slack, lets fish snatch bait and swallow without feeling the unfamiliar drag of the sinker or heavy main line. The fish will commit by taking some line - you will see it go tight - set the hook with a slight flick of your rod tip - don't overdo the set and rip out the hook - trust the hooks to hold. Then enjoy the fight !
Use with the popular Floating Berkely Powerbait Dough (sold in sidebar) for excellent retention and fish catching results.
Remember - for hooks size - the larger the NUMBER the SMALLER the hook. Get a variety of sizes so you can adapt to conditions and they type of fish present.
You will be amazed at the size of trout that can be caught on seemingly tiny hooks. Trout of 4 - 6 lbs. are routinely caught on barely-visible size 18 hooks. Sometimes the trick is to use a SMALLER hook to fool them into taking the bait - trust us.
These are perfect for catching trout and other gamefish in lakes, ponds and slow moving pools. Great for relaxing fishing - bait - cast - wait.
Buy multiple kits - your friends are going to want them when they see you catching all the fish.
