We searched for a good ultralight sunglass solution for a long time. We wanted quality, affordable, lightweight with full wrap around protection, as we spend lots of hours backpacking & hiking in full sun.

We found many sunglass companies who will ask $50 to over $100 for a pair with great lens technology. Nothing against those companies like Oakley, Ray Ban, Vuarnet, Maui Jim, but often they put those great lenses in a frame that does not offer complete wrap around protection - light and UV rays just stream in the sides. At high altitude on long hikes you need side protection.

Some of those expensive glasses used heavy metal coatings and frames, and we are all about lightweight. Plus, $100 ? Thats is a good bit of change, and the thought of accidently leaving $100 worth of glasses on a rock 18 miles from the trailhead is not appealing.

Others had limited fit options - good for one person but not the next. As a website, we don't have a fitting room - we must offer a product that can adust to fit a wide variety of people.

Before continuing - a personal note. I have one ear that is slightly higher than the other. I think it is the result of too many Mountain Biking accidents in my younger days.
