Replacement Filter for Seychelle Gravity Water Fitler. Fits the Seychelle water filtration bag. Replaces the inline filter on models with and without hand pump. Lab Tested and approved for use by NATO and the General Services Administration for all government and military purchasing.
The cleaning is performed by a combination of activated charcoal carbon filters, Biosafe and the EPA approved iodinated resin for extra safety. The iodinated resin has been proven effective against crypto, giardia, bacteria and virus to a reduction of six logs (99.9999%).
The replaceable filter is good for up to 100 gallons of great-tasting safe water.

* Produces up to 100 gallons of filtered water before the filter needs changing. Note - filter life is directly related to turbidity of water. Filtering tap water will yield approximately 200 gallons filter life. Water from a clear flowing, gravel bed, Snow Melt fed mountain stream - 150 gallons. Green water from the Amazon River - 50 gallons. Extend the life of the filter by letting particulates in source water settle before filtering. Filter life is over when filter clogs.
It removes up to 99.99% of contaminants and pollutants found in fresh water supplies including Aesthetics such as chlorine, Sediment and dirt; Biologicals such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, E-Coli Bacteria; Chemicals (VOC’S) such as DDT, MTBE, Benzene, Chloroforms (THM'S); and Dissolved Solids (Heavy metals) such as Arsenic, Lead, Mercury, Copper, Zinc, Aluminum and Chromium 6.
The filter contains EPA approved iodinated resin (EPA Reg #: 35917-2) which has been proven effective in the removal of bacteria and viruses to six logs (99.9999%).
This filter also includes an exclusive new feature - it has been granted a worldwide exclusive license to employ BIOSAFE technology. BIOSAFE antimicrobial is an organo-function silane technology. It physically disrupts the target organism's cell membrane on contact. BIOSAFE molecularly bonds to a treated substrate, thus making the material itself antimicrobial. BIOSAFE is safe, non-toxic, non-leaching and is EPA, FDA and NSF approved. It is molecularly bonded to the filters and acts like a "pincushion" of molecules that disrupt and rupture the cell structures of water borne micro-organisms. Its biostatic effect reduces bacteria to four logs or 99.99%. BIOSAFE is colorless, tasteless, natural and odorless and has an indefinite shelf life.
