The Ultralight Collapsible Fishing Pen Rod and Baitcast reel combination is great for expedition kayaking, ice fishing, your glovebox or anytime you want to "whip it out" and fish.

This fully working, micro sized Pen shaped fishing rod comes in a tough aluminum case only 8 inches long. This combination includes a Baitcasting reel.

Called the "World's Smallest Fishing Pole" - It weighs only 55 grams (about the same as 9 quarters). It extends to 36 inches and has 4 eyelets for line.

It compacts down to 8", and extends to a full 36". It weighs about 55 grams. The rod has Five Fiberglass Telecsoping Sections and 4 line eyelets.

The integrated case/handle is available in several colors GunMetal GRAY, BLUE, RED, and SILVER.

Don't let the small size fool you. This is a capable rod with plenty of action. We get reports of 4 lb+ fish on this rod. It makes a great gift for a fisherman.

The end rod segment bends to 90 degrees. The bottom 3 segments are stiffer, with about 10 degrees of flex. This is a lightweight rod, forced 'hand' bending beyond these limits can cause breakage that is not covered under warranty. The only breakage we've experienced has been during lab testing - where we intentionally go beyond the limits. No fish has broken one yet, but what a story that would make.

The Baitcasting Reel is high quality and is very serviceable. This is the larger of our two bait cast reels. The 'STD' boasts greater line capacity and user selectable left and right hand retrieve.

In between the left and right selector is a middle postiion that permits the spool to freewheel for basic casting.

There is also a drag setting on the side. While it is not as sensitive or variable as drags on more expensive reels, it does permit some adjustment.

This combination is commonly used for pier, dock or ice fishing. This model has adjustable drag and a thumb brake button, it is ready to catch fish. A built in line clip keeps fishing line from tangling while in storage.

It is equipped with a special base clip to attach to the pen rod.

Reels do not come with fishing line. It is recommended that you load them with 4 to 6lb. test line (we like Spiderwire EZ or Stren Magnathin 4LB test).
