Big enough to hold a full 18 or 27 ounces (select your size above) yet small enough to fit easily into your pack, purse, bike cage or messenger bag, the Klean Kanteen Wide is our most versatile form factor.
We do NOT carry the colored ( Kolored ) Klean Kanteens in a variety of colors for one very imporant reason. They are painted. As with any painted product, if heated it will probably burn. In a pinch, the pure stainless steel models carried here CAN be heated to boil water over a fire.
No contamination problems like the Sigg Urban Canteen which are on recall - these are truly safe.
The 18 ouncer is only 6.5 inches high and weighs just 6.4 ounces (with cap) so it's compact and light. The 27 ounce weighs 8.0 ounces and is 8.6 inches high by 2.75 inches wide.
They've got big mouths too — 2.125 inches wide to be exact! It's quick to refill at the water cooler or even a sink, and it's easy to pour from and clean. Big enough to add ice cubes.
The threads are 100% stainless steel and the design works with standard backcountry hiking water filters - thats right - bolts right on so you can fill it directly. The inside of the wide-mouth cap is all stainless too, so your drinks never touch plastic. In fact, the only plastic on the Klean Kanteen Wide is on the outside of the cap; and of course it's BPA-free polypropylene (pp#5).
The Klean Kanteen Wide comes with a Stainless Loop Cap that works standard carabiners making it a snap to clip it onto a backpack, shoulder strap, a work belt or even a climbing harness.
Because Klean Kanteens are food-grade stainless steel, they don't need to be lined and will never retain or leach flavors. No matter how many times you refill it, no matter what you put into it, the drinks in your Klean Kanteen will stay fresh and tasty.
