Wound Seal Powder Stops Bleeding
Wound Seal permits you to effectively treat and stop bleeding wounds in the field. Treat cuts, pokes, stabs quickly and easily. One of the best sellers in our Health category.
Why We Like Wound Seal Powder:
We love this for our field first aid kits. The Wound Seal kits are small, simple to use, and effective. Especially useful on solo hikes when you have to self administer first aid. The resulting seal is long lasting, resists infection, and works with the body's natural clotting action.
Before you consider some crazy tip from youtube like using Krazy Glue to seal a cut - read about this purpose built wound seal product.
Each kit has 2 separate packs of powder.
WoundSeal Powder is a non-prescription topical powder. The ingredients are a hydrophilic polymer and potassium ferrate. In combination with manual pressure to the wound, the powder quickly forms a strong scab that completely covers the wound and stops the bleeding. WoundSeal Powder is not a vasoconstrictor or a cauterizing agent, is not biologically derived and is non-toxic.
Use WoundSeal Powder on external wounds that have blood, such as cuts, skin tears, avulsions and nosebleeds. If sutures are required, the protective scab that forms may be removed by a medical professional by soaking it with saline solution and gently scraping it off. The powder must be totally irrigated out the wound prior to applying sutures.
How to use Wound Seal powder packs:
Clean wound and apply only when bleeding resumes.
WoundSeal Powder needs blood to work.
1. TEAR package open at perforation
2. POUR onto bleeding wound, completely covering it.
3. PRESS for 30 seconds to form the protective scab and stop the bleeding.
Repeat application if needed. The protective scab is safe to leave in place until it falls off naturally. Avoid wetting the scab for one hour. Occasionally upon application, a temporary warming or stinging sensation may be felt.
If WoundSeal Powder must be removed as determined by a healthcare professional, brush away loose powder then soak wound in sterile water until scab starts loosening from wound. Gently scrape off loosened scab with gloved finger or tongue depressor.
Warnings: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Not intended to replace stitches. Seek medical attention if wound requires stitches. Do not apply WoundSeal Powder to visibly infected wounds.
