The ZapLight is a sturdy metal flashlight powered by rechargeable batteries that illuminate an ultra bright LED light, then with the flick of a switch becomes a stun gun that packs a million volts of crime stopping power.
Should someone threaten you, you have the option of giving them a cautioning blast by pushing the button - it emits a startling loud crackle and electrical arcing that lets them know - you are not defenseless. The noise and visual effects alone often proves an effective deterrent.
Should an assailant persist - a short contact blast of 1/4 second duration will startle an attacker, cause minor muscle contractions and have a repelling effect. The effect is generated by direct pressure contact to an assailants body. It works through clothing - the more you press, longer you hold, the more intense the effect.
Need more ? A moderate length direct pressure contact blast of 1 to 4 seconds will cause an attacker to fall to the ground and result in some mental confusion. It may make an assailant unwilling to continue an attack, but he will be able to get up almost immediately.
Need even more ? A full blast of 5 seconds or more can immobilize an attacker, cause disorientation, loss of balance, falling to the ground and leave them weak and dazed for several minutes.
The super bright LED flashlight illuminates the area, further aiding in personal security. LEDs work for over 5 hours per charge.
This is a useful item for jogging, camping, hunting, dark parking lots, and dog walking. It includes a wrist strap for extra security, and a red LED light indicates when the unit is in stun mode. It takes a 2 step process to stun - you slide the flashlight button forward then push the stun button - fast and easy but you have to think about it.
Notes:
1.) Any charge from the Zaplight lasting over 1 second is likely to cause your assailant to fall. If you do not help them down, gravity may injure them.
2.) You do not have to be concerned about the effects of the charge being transferred to you. Even if the assailant touches you while being stunned, you will not feel the effects of the charge.
3.) The Zaplight will have an effect anywhere on the body, but maximum effect is in the upper shoulder, below the ribcage, or the upper hip areas. Diagrams are included in the manual.
4.) Do not test fire the unit in the air for more than 1 second.
5.) When assailants body is being stunned the sight and sound of the charge will differ from what is seen and heard during test firing. The trigger can be held down for more than one second, as this will not damage the unit as it will when being test fired.
6.) Do not expect this to work on bears. Their skin and hair are very thick and their body mass much greater than a human. The proper product to use is the pepper spray (sold in sidebar).
